The visitor’s itinerary was built on three different reading levels: history, seasons and liturgy. The different testimonials and films will enable you:
- to understand the different steps in the life of a carthusian monk
- to learn more about the Order’s turbulent history over the years
- to know more about their everyday life
You will find:
- the reconstitution of a monk’s hermitage
- a room devoted to Dom le Masson, the rebuilder of the Grande Chartreuse as it is today
- the many steps of the restoration of a Charterhouse painting and the wonderful work of the restorer
- 
the renaissance room, which combines a model of the monastery and 6 European Charterhouse paintings, to better understand the link between the Grande Chartreuse and the other Houses of the Order
- the library, with more than 300 books and a virtual version of the Casalibus Bible.
